So there’s this really dorky artist in Canada that got an interview on the news hahaaaahaha. I’m dying guys, dying. This is so funny / amazing. Thank you CBC for doing the interview and sticking me on the website!
So, Amaranthine Project: AVATAR…
Stephan and I are seriously working our butts off to get a kickstarter going for it. It’s actually tantalizingly close. I know, it’s been a long haitus for Avi but we’re finally determined to get it started once more. This is our baby that made us fall in love with comics in the first place and it’s never once left the forefront of my mind in terms of priorities. I love Avi. It inspires me just thinking about being able to work on it again.
I’m hoping that our awesome fans will be interested still, after all these years. It’s a new years resolution of mine to do more art for Avi. More concepts, more sketches, more doodles, more pages, more scripts, more layouts, more everything. Some of this will be kept secret for later publishing, while some will be freely viewable on the interwebs. I’ll get more information to everyone as I have it, but I just thought I’d update you guys on our activities. WHICH THERE ARE PLENTY.
Also: Does anyone have a Wacom Intuos 4 (the black ones) classic or normal stylus they’d be willing to part with/sell me? Mine was lost months and months ago and I’d love to replace it. I’ve been borrowing a friend’s tablet and she kind of needs it back soon. : |
OH HAY. I FOUND A THING.
I found a little summery of our reasons for taking down FDA from the interwebs, as well as the list of the books and order they would be written:
Since we stopped posting them online online (and taken down what we have) we’ve been getting a surprising amount of questions as to when they will be available to read again or published, and unfortunately, the answer is, we don’t know. Plagiarism is a huge problem on the internet, and we love them too much to risk further theft of them that way, so unfortunately, you probably won’t ever see an online chapter update for them again. We may however in the VERY far future choose to self publish (as I doubt we would find a publisher interested in taking on subject matter such as ours, given the limited audience they would appeal to and we have no intention of changing the stories or the characters to the point where it would be marketable.) If we do choose to publish them, it won’t be for a good many many years.
We may however release some of the side story/prelude books sooner, since they aren’t dependent on the chronology of the rest of the series and if they go well, we will re-consider releasing the rest of them in the future more seriously, but right now, it is a distant priority.
So I apologize to our past readers who enjoyed reading them, and to the current potential readers who’ve expressed such interest in reading them now, we so love knowing that there are people out there that might love our world and our characters as much as we do and your interest in reading and seeing keeps our interest in writing and showing going
We will however of course keep posting the occasional art of it for you to enjoy, and very seriously consider releasing a fully illustrated FDA art book.
